Talley History

Talley Inc. was founded in 1983 under its original name Talley Electronics Corp. John R. Talley and Elizabeth J. Talley purchased CRS, Inc., a 15 year old company with locations in Los Angeles and Phoenix. Capitalizing on his experience as CEO and President of Uniden Corporation, John R. Talley decided to focus the company’s efforts on the commercial communications industry.

The company didn't start with the intention of being family owned. Only when the last son joined the company and earned the respect of employees and customers did the concept of family owned become a reality. The four sons, John D., Jeff, Mark and Rick all joined the company between 1984 and 1986. Although John R. and Elizabeth have no intentions of fully retiring, they recently commented, "Our current and future success is dependent upon their direction and leadership."

Since its inception, Talley has grown every single year. Now in its 27th year, the company is one of the largest distributors of wireless communications products in the United States. A major key to Talley's success is its family-style culture of customer service — providing one-on-one, expert consultative assistance to meet the needs of wireless communications professionals. Even though Talley has grown into one of the largest RF suppliers in the country, it has maintained a personal, smaller-company feel that has led to strong customer relationships and a loyal customer base.

Talley serves customers in several industry segments with eight distribution centers stocking inventory from over 100 major suppliers. All eight cities are cable processing capable and located close to the end users. Talley’s inventory reflects the demands of wireless communications, infrastructure and mobile communications users. In addition, a wide variety of broadband products as well as cable assemblies are offered. Talley provides prompt delivery and freight savings from its eight distribution centers, more than any other distributor.
